With Christmas well under way, part of the team have been braving the cold (and flirty Nannas) at Chatsworth House.
Meanwhile, the big boss has been a busy boy.
First he was at Wembley on Tuesday for the emotionally-charged England v France football match.
Then last night, was partying/working with the legends from Shortlist and Stylist magazine for their Xmas Party, whilst also making sure the snake charmer’s python made it onto the tube safely after her show there…
Churros were literally flying about all over the place, as they were served dangling from umbrellas.
Tomorrow is the beginning of a more local gig, as we serve churros and chocolate to the people of the place we call home – Oxford.
Derbyshire is well known as the home of the Bakewell Tart, but for the next three weeks we’re taking over.
Churros are ready to go at Chatsworth House for their bumper (and free) Christmas Market, running from 12th November (tomorrow) through to 29th November.
Weekdays: 10am – 5.30pm Weekends: 10am – 6pm
Parking fees do apply.
Weekdays: £5 per car Weekends: £10 per car
You can’t miss us, we’re slap bang in the middle of the action, although we’re not in one of our usual stalls. Instead we’re in a borrowed mobile trailer, something we’re very excited about as we look into possible avenues for future units of our own.
The lack of space to store our stock (bags of flour, boxes of Belgian chocolate, cans of oil etc.) has already caused a couple of problems though, especially after a slight misunderstanding with the landlord of the cottage we are renting for the duration of our time at Chatsworth.
We managed to get on the wrong side of him almost immediately, by mistakenly thinking we could store our stock in the cottage.
Thankfully we found somewhere else to put everything, but this did mean that we spent most of Tuesday loading and unloading a van with nearly a month’s worth of stock in it! Hugo’s glass hip is in turmoil.
Anyway back to Chatsworth House. What a beauty.
We can’t wait to get started and I’m sure if you get the chance you’ll be there too. Beware though they are operating a timed ticketing system for the house until 3rd January in order to reduce queuing times. Find out more here.
Summer of love
6th November 2015
(The Amigos hard at work…ish.)
Its been a quiet few weeks at Los Churros Amigos HQ.
After a loooooong summer we’ve had a well deserved rest.
But we’re back with a BANG this weekend at three different fireworks festivals. Punbelievable.
The first one started last night. In the wonderful setting of Boughton House in Northamptonshire, loads of you braved the cold to munch on churros and chocolate, whilst watching an award-winning re-enactment of the Gunpowder Plot.
We love a British stately home, and Boughton House is up there with the best of them, if you fancy getting down there the show is on again tonight and tomorrow.
On Saturday, as well as Boughton House, you will also find us at the legendary Alexandra Palace Fireworks Festival.
Over 50,000 are expected to turn out and it’s easy to see why. As well as our famous churros, you can get stuck into some mulled wine and take in the fantastic Mutoid Waste Parade.
On Sunday we’ll be legging it across London to the Richmond Athletic Ground for even more fireworks – we just don’t care about our eardrums here at Los Churros Amigos.
This year’s theme is ‘A Night at the Musicals’. Our staff are more West Ham than West End, but if you’re going, be sure to find us for the perfect bonfire treat!
