The year ahead

10th January 2017

It’s safe to say that 2016 might not go down as everyone’s favourite year.

Exactly 12 months ago the misery began with David Bowie… and it all went downhill from there.

Every single celebrity ever followed Bowie to the grave, and then there was Brexit, and then there was Donald Trump and his alleged Russian hackers winning the US presidential election (allegedly). If any lawyers are reading this I said alleged and allegedly there so I’m covered. But I don’t think there will be any lawyers reading this. Does anybody read this?

Anyway, yeah, 2016 was tough at times. Especially the time when our van sunk in the mud at Glastonbury, and we couldn’t get it out until the Tuesday. Watching England lose to Iceland on an iPhone, on a bench in the middle of a silent and empty festival, was a real low point.

But then there were also plenty of high points for us. Our popularity soared to new levels in 2016, and the demand for our churros and Belgian chocolate meant we had 5 stalls out on some weekends over the summer.

We capped the year off in style at a billionaire’s wedding in India, and then the Oxford Christmas Market. It really did feel like we were riding a wave of momentum as 2016 drew to a close.

So then. What to do with all that momentum eh?!

Well the 2017 calendar is filling up rapidly.

January sees us return to Chiswick House for the Magical Lantern Festival, as well as returning to Trafalgar Square for Chinese New Year celebrations.

February and March will be our chance to prepare for the summer, including hiring staff, so if you are reading this, and you fancy working at music festivals for a few months, then get in touch.

Once April arrives it will be full steam ahead. You’ll find us at all the old favourites (Carfest, Jamie Oliver’s Big Feastival etc.) as well as a couple of new little gems like Lymington Seafood Festival.

I’ve bored you enough for the time being, but keep an eye on us in 2017, it’s gonna be a good one.
